Spirituality is mind-based and involves thinking. When thinking plays a role, naturally, you will explore what is true and what is not. When all this happens, a process will take place in your mind and you will eventually reach religion, the true religion.
Maulana, what is spirituality? Can a person be spiritual without following any religion or ideology? The history of spirituality can be divided into two parts. In earlier times, spirituality was considered a heart-based discipline. It wasn't connected to religion. In that sense, spirituality meant a state of ecstasy, a state of trance. So, it wasn't related to religion. But the spirituality I believe in is mind-based. So when you activate your mind by thinking, you will want to know the truth. In seeking the truth, you will eventually reach religion. So, the spirituality of earlier times, which was heart-based, wasn't associated with religion. However, in my view, spirituality is mind-based and involves thinking. When thinking plays a role, naturally, you will explore what is true and what is not. When all this happens, a process will take place in your mind and you will eventually reach religion, the true religion.
